Bling For the Holidays

BeansTalk’s Word to the Wise About Glittery Polish:

1. A little goes a long way. We were playing around with these polishes this weekend, and found that it looks best when applied in a thin layer over another color or as a sheer coat by itself, with basecoat and topcoat, of course. If you put it on too thickly it can look rather Las Vegas-y. Less is more here.

2. Keep your jewelry in mind when choosing between gold glitter or silver glitter polish. BeansTalk thought that the silver glitter polish matched our platinum wedding ring nicely. On the days you wear gold jewelry, wear gold. Don’t let your polish compete with your rings or bracelets; it should complement them.

3. Glitter polish is surprisingly chip proof. Also, if you have soft or easily broken nails, you will be pleased with the harder texture and reinforcement of the glitter particles. It might help you avoid breaks, and a sheer coat over an already chipped manicure will camouflage it.
