BBC Fave Returns

Award-winning actor James Nesbitt (Cold Feet, Bloody Sunday) returns to BBC AMERICA as an uncompromising undercover cop haunted by his past in the U.S. premiere season of the acclaimed drama Murphy's Law, premiering Mondays from January 31, 2005 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. While Tommy Murphy served as an officer in the Royal Ulster Constabulary, the IRA murdered his daughter in front of his wife. Haunted by grief and guilt, his marriage split up and he moved to London to start over. A failed psychiatric assessment nearly cost him his police career, but he was offered a lifeline in the form of a new job as an undercover detective - a perfect profession for a man with nothing left to lose.

Writer and novelist Colin Bateman (Divorcing Jack, Wild About Harry, Jumpers) wrote and created Murphy's Law for James Nesbitt. Bateman's first Murphy's Law novel was published in 2002 and marked the beginning of a series.
