MacLachlan is best known for his role as Trey MacDougal in HBO’s Sex and the City series. The actor made his film debut in 1984 in auteur director David Lynch'’s Dune. MacLachlan later starred in Lynch's Blue Velvet and TV serial 'Twin Peaks,' in which he played FBI Agent Dale Cooper in a Golden Globe winning turn. He has also appeared as Ray Manzarek in Oliver Stone's The Doors. More recently, MacLachlan starred as the spirit of Cary Grant in the critically acclaimed Touch of Pink.
