"Live Earth” Concert Nabs Nearly 8 Million Total Viewers on Bravo
Bravo's coverage of Saturday's historic television event, "Live Earth: The Concerts for a Climate in Crisis,” delivered record ratings and marked the network's best Saturday – ever – across all key demos, according to Nielsen Media Research. Bravo's nearly 18-hour live broadcast of non-stop coverage from New York Giants Stadium attracted 7.938 million unduplicated viewers who watched all or part of the telecast (9A – 2:30 A ET on 07/07/07).
Bravo's marathon coverage hosted by former MTV hosts Dave Holmes and Karen Duffy and VH1 presenter Aamer Haleem exploded 101 percent over the previous four week time period average in total viewers (740,000 vs. 369,000) and 113 percent in the key adult 18-49 demo (433,000 vs. 203,000). The day's coverage peaked at 9 p.m. with 1,272,000 total viewers and 706,000 A18-49.
The total audience for the "Live Earth” concerts across all NBC Universal networks (NBC, BRAVO, Telemundo and CNBC) tallied nearly 19 million viewers, who watched all or part of the coverage.
