Scottish Rockers' Idlewild
Tour in U.S.; New Album

(New York, NY) - U.S. tour dates have been confirmed for Scottish quintet Idlewild, whose fifth album, Warnings/Promises, will be released in the U.S. on August 16, 2005. Dates for the tour, which kicks off September 6th in Boston, are listed below with more dates to be confirmed soon.

Warnings/Promises is the band's first album to be written with a new lineup featuring bassist Gavin Fox and longtime touring guitarist Allan Stewart, and its songs, although clearly coming from Idlewild, have become broader, richer and more ambitious.

From widescreen opener "Love Steals Us From Loneliness," Idlewild announce their new sound with a thick crunch of melancholic harmonies and folk melody spun over deeply intertwined guitars. What follows mixes arty blare, bittersweet pop and the raw embers of Americana - sometimes within a single song.

"Warnings/Promises is another awesome growth spurt from our most uncompromising, credible and soul-stirring arena-bound rock band. Big music? The Biggest." - NME (9/10)

"A slow-burning intensity...a major step forward." - Mojo

" album of considerable grace and poise." - Q
