Agents of the Sun

Venus Loves Agents of the Sun

The release date for Agents of the Sun’s Monarchs Of A Fallen Society has changed to October 25, 2005 on DCide Records. It was originally scheduled to come out October 11. “Therapy” has been chosen as the first single, which is currently being serviced to radio stations across the country.

Some early reviews of the album have started to surface. ECromper.com praised the band’s: “…catchy grooves and a driving rhythm section, especially the drums. They play a nice mix of structured, melodic post hardcore with a nice crunch factor and good vocals. 311 drummer Chad Sexton gave them a thick mix, which does the drums and bass sweet justice. While they have a lot of musical competition, AOTS have maneuvered themselves to the front of the genre…” And Blogcritics.org hailed: “The musicianship of the lads is obvious and there is talent on show here rather than just band-wagon jumping. Ray Dobson certainly has the vocal chops for this sort of rock. It is clear they have honed their craft over the years…A well put together release.”

Venus Williams recently posted on her website: “Lately I've been listening non stop to (the debut) album, Aurora by Agents of the Sun. I have not been able to get into a band this much for years. It’s like the heavy sound of 90's rock meets the 2000s sound, with beautiful distortions and raging melodies. These guys rock hard and throw some raps in there too, which just blew me away. The message is real dope too because they express the drama of life’s ups and downs in their songs, but it all ends with a positive resolve even if the end is not positive. Also, they are constantly rhyming about the beauty in life, and how the little things are just beautiful and I just relate to that because that is how I see life too. I feel like me and this band are on the same wavelength…Check these guys out.” Check out the entire entry on her website at the following link:

The band recently concluded a handful of dates on 311’s U.S. tour, performing at the band’s after-parties. A brotherhood between the two bands already exists, since 311 drummer Chad Sexton mixed Monarchs of a Fallen Society. A formal U.S. tour for Agents of the Sun is currently in the works. In the meantime, fans could check them out at two shows in Jacksonville, NC (October 8, 2005 at Jacksonville Commons Skate Park and October 9, 2005 at Planet Rock), as well as a special hometown show in Baltimore, MD on October 10, 2005 at Fletchers.
