"Professor" Madonna

Madonna is the latest participant in the mtvU “Stand In” series. She surprised students at Hunter College in New York City. Followed by mtvU cameras, Madonna visited students in the college’s Music, Film, Media Studies and Marketing courses as their “Stand In” professor for the day. Following a screening of her new documentary film “I’m Going To Tell You A Secret,” Madonna surprised the class and led them in a Q & A session. There she offered insight on her career, life and this latest personal milestone.

mtvU’s “Stand In” with Madonna premieres on mtvU Über (www.mtvu.com), the first MTV Networks channel distributed in its entirety via broadband, on November 7, 2005. The episode will be broadcast the following day on-air on mtvU on November 8, 2005 at 12 p.m. ET/9 a.m. PT.

Madonna’s new album Confessions on a Dance Floor is scheduled to be released on November l5, 2005. “I’m Going To Tell You a Secret,” Madonna’s new documentary film, covers her journey on and off stage during her 2004 “Re-Invention Tour.”

Madonna is the latest to participate in mtvU’s “Stand In” event series. Each stepping in as guest professor and teaching a class unique to their experience and background, previous participants include Bill Gates, Melissa Etheridge, Shimon Peres, Kanye West, Elie Wiesel, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Ashley Judd, Russell Simmons, author Tom Wolfe, rapper Nas, Marilyn Manson, Snoop Dogg, Senator John McCain, and Sting.
