The inspirational Tea Leoni

Prive’s Cut-A-Thon for Cancer

The American Cancer Society estimates that more than 200,000 women were diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004 and one in seven women will develop breast cancer during their lifetime. To help further research and save the lives of women affected, celebrity stylist and founder of Privè products, Laurent Dufourg has organized an unprecedented event. On October 15, 2005 from 8 p.m. – 12 p.m., select Privé salons across the nation will participate in a cut-a-thon, as well as donate Privé Product gift baskets to a drawing to raise proceeds for The Expedition Inspiration Fund For Breast Cancer Research.

“Breast cancer has touched everyone’s life at some point whether it be a friend or family member who has struggled with the disease. So when my friend and client Téa Leoni first mentioned her affiliation with Expedition Inspiration, we created Privé Styling Brilliance to help raise money,” said Dufourg. “Although a portion of proceeds go to research efforts, I still felt like there was something more that we could do and the cut-a-thon was the answer. We have such dedicated and compassionate salons affiliated with the brand, I knew that they would jump at the opportunity to lend a helping hand.”

The cut-a-thon will take place on October 15, 2005 simultaneously with the Expedition Inspiration 10th Anniversary “Take-a-Hike” fundraiser in Los Angeles, CA. To enter a drawing for a gift basket worth $175 in Privé products, visit a participating salon between October 1 and October 15, 2005. For participating salons, please call 866-351-1193.

In addition to the cut-a-thon, providing water bottles to walkers, and having a team of walkers at the event, Privé is also giving the top 25 hike fundraisers a special “thank you.” Immediately following the walk, Laurent D. and the Los Angeles Privé Salon will host a luncheon for celebrity walkers such as Téa Leoni and Cindy Crawford, and the top hike fundraisers. Guests will receive gift certificates for a complimentary cut and style, as well as a Privé gift basket, and at the end of the luncheon Privé will present a check with the final donation amount to Expedition Inspiration on behalf of the participating Privé salons.

“Salons that sell Privé all have a special vibe about them – they truly care about their communities and will do anything they can to give back,” according Laura Nidetz, Privé sales manager. “Every month we are involved in numerous cause-oriented salon events, and I am proud to be part of something so wonderful and caring.”
