Elisabeth Rohm (“Law and Order”) stars as an FBI agent caught in a desperate hostage situation in “The Negotiator,” on Lifetime Television Sunday, October 23, 2005 at 9 p.m.

In “The Negotiator,” Rohm portrays single mother Laura Martin, one of the agency’s top hostage negotiators. After handling a tense situation with a hijacked bus filled with abused mental patients, Laura must then negotiate with a woman who has taken over a hospital. That woman has resorted to desperate measures for the chance to beat cancer through a lottery system whereby patients must "win" entry to an experimental drug program.

The Negotiator” is one of ten movies airing on Lifetime that weekend (Saturday, October 22, 2005 from 1-11 p.m. and Sunday, October 23, 2005 from 11a.m.-11 p.m. featuring women and men taking action into their own hands when the traditional justice system fails them.

The weekend also includes “A Child’s Wish,” airing Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 1 p.m.. In this movie, a father (John Ritter) is fired because he takes too much time off work to care for his sixteen-year-old daughter, who is suffering from cancer. With the help of a senator, the father lobbies Congress to pass the Family and Medical Leave Act. Former President Bill Clinton makes a cameo appearance.

On Monday, October 24, 2005 at 9 p.m. and Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at 9 p.m., Lifetime premieres the miniseries “Human Trafficking,” starring Mira Sorvino and Donald Sutherland in a powerful story about the global trade in human flesh.
