Mr. Cecil's California Ribs. Just thinking about it makes us hungry!

A Good Ribbing

One of BeansTalk’s favorite restaurants is Mr. Cecil’s California Ribs in West Los Angeles on Pico, just west of Centinela. It’s apparently a favorite with celebs, too, who also flock to their valley location. We can tell you that the beef ribs are completely amazing and the best ever – most rib restaurants rely on their pork ribs, but Mr. Cecil’s has absolutely fantastically yummy beef ribs.

Here are some celebs who recently enjoyed the taste sensations:

Seal stopped in at Mr. Cecil's California Ribs in Sherman Oaks on Friday, September 30 and picked up a to-go order consisting of seven racks of BBQ Baby Back Ribs, seven orders of roasted corn with chili lime butter and seven orders of hushpuppies. While Seal was waiting for his order, he told the hostess that his wife (supermodel Heidi Klum) and newest baby boy were doing just fine.

Mr. Cecil's California Ribs in West Los Angeles welcomed Rob Reiner, family and friends (a party of nine) on Saturday, September 24 as they feasted on BBQ beef ribs, baby back ribs, St. Louis ribs, a tri-tip dinner and numerous sides consisting of hushpuppies, cornbread, coleslaw, Annie's salad, French fries and seven orders of grilled corn-on-the-cob with chili lime butter. While chowing down, the Reiner clan played 'Mad-libs' -- the popular word game.

On Thursday, September 15, 2005, Scott Baio showed off his new 4-door, sedan, gray Jaguar at Mr. Cecil's California Ribs in Sherman Oaks when he stopped in to pick up 2 orders of BBQ baby back ribs, two orders of BBQ beef ribs, three orders of 'to die for' hush puppies, two orders of green beans and twoorders of steamed carrots. Baio drove off with his ribs and the new car ( price tags still on the car!) – was this an early birthday present to himself? Baio’s birthday was September 22. He turned 45.

Monday, September 12: A slimmed down John Goodman stopped into Mr. Cecil's California Ribs in Sherman Oaks and placed a take-out order for 2 racks of BBQ babyback ribs and 2 racks of BBQ beef ribs -- no side dishes. Maybe Goodman is on a low-carb regimen.

Sunday, September 11, 2005: A very well-dressed Billy Zane stopped in to Mr. Cecil's California Ribs in West LA, placed a take-out order and sat at the counter waiting for his racks. (He didn't call ahead) Zane ordered three orders of BBQ babyback ribs, hushpuppies, grilled corn on the cob with chili lime butter and coleslaw. "Mr. Zane left a 15% tip on his take-out order -- that's a lot for take-out!" beamed the server.

On August 29, 2005 Babyface escaped the heat in Sherman Oaks. He ducked into Mr. Cecil's California Ribs on Ventura Blvd. and lunched on BBQ Chicken, green beans and grilled corn on the cob with chili lime butter. He washed it all down with a Coke. He was there with a pretty Latina woman who he has been spotted with there before.
