Andrea Bowen Gets "Wicked"

Desperate Housewives star Andrea Bowen arrived on the "green" carpet at last night's Wicked premiere wearing a dress and shoes by Kenneth Cole, a black cotton blouson style drop waist halter dress by Kenneth Cole New York, paired with black pleated satin round toe pumps with lace trim from Kenneth Cole's UNLISTED line. In keeping with the green theme, she accessorized her look with a lime leather "Legende" clutch with crystal stone closure and green and blue crystal ring by Daniel Swarovski Paris.

Ahh...Massage

Massage Must in West L.A.

[BeansTalk can personally recommend Ms. Stein as an excellent massage therapist.]

From BeansTalk friend, Betzi Stein: Scientific studies have shown that receiving massage therapy on a regular basis contributes to long term health, well being and quality of life. I believe that massage therapy should be affordable for everyone, so I am introducing a pricing policy that will allow anyone to experience the benefits of my high level of skill and sensitivity acquired over more than 18 years in private practice. I call it HONOR SYSTEM PRICING and here’s how it works: YOU SET YOUR OWN FEE!* That’s right. You tell me how much you are comfortable paying within a certain range, and that is what I will accept.

My standard rates are:

$55 per 1/2 hour

$100 per 1 hour

$145 per 1 1/2 hour

Honor System Price Range:

1/2 hour $25 - $55

1 hour $55 - $100

1 1/2 hour $100 - $145

It is my wish that you make massage a priority in your life and if given the opportunity to choose a price that fits your budget, money will not be a deterrent.

I specialize in pain management for people who have chronic musculoskeletal problems, but the work is effective for anyone

including people recovering from injury or illness, athletes, pregnant women, the elderly and anyone who is just overstressed and overworked.

What makes my work unique is the very slow, deliberate, deep tissue method I use that allows the body to open and release pain and tension comfortably. It is deeply satisfying and relaxing to receive.

I see both male and female clients of all ages, am available seven days, have flexible hours and am centrally located on the Westside of Los Angeles.

Pamela Anderson

Pam Anderson's Rejection

NEW YORK Thursday, June 23, 2005 – The man who claims to be the first to discover Pamela Anderson speaks out about her first modeling gig on Friday’s ‘A Current Affair.” He claims that when he sent the resulting photos to Pepsi and Canada’s Labatt’s Beer they rejected her.

“I think I saw how special she was [during that first photo shoot], but when I was showing her pictures around LA [before she became famous], I don't think people [advertisers] could see it [her star qualities], just yet,” says TV producer, David Sereda, who claims he was the first to discover her star potential. He first noticed the star when she was featured in a “little black and white ad” for a fitness club in Canada, asserting the ad “was so small you almost needed a magnifying glass to see how beautiful she was.” Anderson was a fitness trainer for the club.

Sereda says he was looking to hire a model to represent a new clothing line called Hot Skins Body Wear. This quickly became what he claims to be Anderson’s first modeling gig, but he also states she was “big, robust…like a strong European woman.” He claims she had originally set her sights on training to be a female body builder, and takes credit for steering her in a different direction. Her first challenge, he states, was for her to lose “all the muscle,” so she could pursue an acting career.

The photographs from that shoot, he asserts, were “really silly,” stating that the budget was so low that he himself shot the photographs. “We used light bulbs because we couldn't afford good studio lights and we used newspaper for a backdrop…”

More on Anderson’s early beginnings, including the childhood incident that shocked the star so much she turned into a P.E.T.A. ambassador, on Friday’s ‘A Current Affair,” (www.acurrentaffair.com), disributed throughout the United States by Twentieth Television.

Joe Perry and his Boneyard Brew

Hot Sauce and a Solo CD

Guitarist and Aerosmith founding member Joe Perry has a new solo album and a pair of signature hot sauces.

Perry--whose new solo album, Joe Perry, is in stores now--will join the Rock Your World crew in attendance at the July 10-12, 2005 at the National Association for the Specialty Food Trade's (NASFT) Fancy Foods Show at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City. Both Perry’s sauces--"Rock Your World Boneyard Brew" and "Rock Your World Mango-Peach Tango" hot sauce--are being considered for food awards, which will be announced at the show.

A longtime fan of spicy food, Perry grew tired of concocting his own sauce by blending different commercial hot sauces to create the right balance of flavor and heat. Four years ago, he contacted Ashley Foods--a Boston-based food company--about formulating his own hot sauce. A year later, Perry unleashed the Rock Your World Boneyard Brew, an all-natural mix of fresh habanero peppers, onions, garlic, lime juice, red bell peppers, chipotle peppers and aged red wine vinegar.

Taking its name from The Boneyard--Joe's basement home studio--the sauce uses fresh ingredients and no preservatives. "I like a sauce that adds some heat but doesn't overwhelm the food," Perry explains. "There are plenty of sauces out there that will blow your brains out; I wasn't interested in that. I wanted to create an everyday sauce with no preservatives for people who want to add a little zest to their food."

Perry was deeply involved in each step of product development from the taste to the packaging. "The bottom line is that I won't put my name on anything--from a Les Paul guitar to a hot sauce--that I don't personally use.

It was Perry's grandfather who first turned him on to fiery flavors. "My grandfather's doctors told him he couldn't have spicy food anymore, so he had a secret stash of hot pepper that he used to share with me," Perry recalls. "When I started traveling a lot 25 years ago, I was exposed to a wide range of cuisines and fell in love food that packs a kick."

Last year, Perry introduced the Rock Your World Mango-Peach Tango hot sauce, a flavorful mix of habanero peppers, mangos, peaches onions, garlic, lime juice, red bell peppers and aged red wine vinegar. The tropical twist, Perry says, was inspired by his trips to the Caribbean and the bottles of Matouk hot sauce he saw on every restaurant table. "The tangy taste of fresh mangos and the bite of habaneros complement each other for an intense sweet heat," Perry explains.

Hard Rock Café currently serves Rock Your World Mango-Peach Tango with its quesadillas and uses it for the Mighty Mango Mary, a twisted take on the classic Bloody Mary. Part of the fun, Perry says, is hearing about the new ways people use his sauce. "I never would have thought to use the sauce in a drink like that. It's strange, but it's like writing a song. Once you put it out there, people will interpret it different ways.

Instead of telling me stories about my songs, now people are telling me their Rock Your World recipes."

Two years ago Aaron Hirsch--Joe's son and the company's CEO--began raising the company's profile through an aggressive marketing and advertising campaign along with the expansion of the Web site http://www.joeperrysrockyourworld.com, which includes t-shirts, recipes and limited-edition, signed bottles of hot sauce.

"Right now we are developing other products by putting our unique twist on the kinds of snacks you would find in the pantry on the Aerosmith tour bus," he says. "We are also exploring ways to donate a portion of the company's profits to a charitable organization." Posted by Hello

Will Ferrell

Given all the recent commencement exercises, here's something BeansTalk really enjoyed:

Will Ferrell Commencement Address
Harvard University
, 2003

"Graduates, if you will indulge me for a moment, let me paint a picture of what it's like out there. The last four or, for some of you, five years you've been living in a fantasyland, running around, talking about Hemingway, or Clancy, or, I don't know, I mean whatever you read here at Harvard. The novelization of `The Matrix,' I don't know. I don't know what you do here.

"But I do know this. You're about to enter into a world filled with hypocrisy and doublespeak, a world in which your limo to the airport is often a half hour late. In addition to not even being a limo at all; oftentimes it's a Lincoln Town Car. You're about to enter a world where you ask your new assistant, Jamie, to bring you a tall nonfat latte. And he comes back with a short soy cappuccino. Guess what, Jamie? You're fired. Not too hard to get right, my friend...

"As you set off into the world, don't be afraid to question your leaders. But don't ask too many questions at one time or that are too hard, because your leaders get tired and/or cranky. All of you sitting here have the brightest futures ahead. Many of you will go on to stellar careers and various pursuits. And four of you---and I'm not at liberty to say which four---will go on to star in the porno industry.

"One of the challenges you will be faced with is finding a job in our depressed economy. In fact, the chances of landing a decent job are about as good as finding weapons of mass destruction in the Iraqi desert. Slim and none. And Slim just left the building. In fact, the closest thing I found to looking like a weapon of mass destruction is the turd that Dick Cheney left in the Oval Office toilet about an hour ago. On that note, God bless and happy graduation."

Skingenious' Pumpkin-A-Peel

Pumpkin-A-Peel by Skingenious

It’s natural enough to eat, but Pumpkin-A-Peel’s nutrient-packed pumpkin enzyme mask features the Vitamin A-packed orange vegetable more than 104 nutrients, including amino acids, essential fatty acids, cucurbitin (an anti-cancer sugar unique to the pumpkin family), and more. This pore-refining enzyme peel keeps skin vibrant and aglow.

SPA 415 in Beverly Hills, reports that supermodel Tyra Banks and actresses Cameron Diaz and Gabrielle Union are all fans of the spa’s professional grade Pumpkin Enzyme Facial ($100/hour, made by Skingenious) – they've bought Pumpkin-A-Peel.

“The process we use is very similar to making wine, where the nutrients of the grapes are concentrated and intensified, “explains Shan Albert, founder and creator of Skingenious. “It’s a way to coax more benefits from the fruit, instead of destroying them.” Marinating the entire pumpkin in natural ingredients, at low temperatures to retain and intensify its vitamin and mineral content, this long, slow process results in a 100% natural fruit acid formula, free of artificial color, fragrance and preservatives. Infused with concentrated pumpkin enzymes, pumpkin extracts, water and essential oils, Pumpkin-A-Peel is:an alternative to AHA’s and is a mild retonic acid substitute; a natural repair therapy ideal for sensitive skin and Rosacea, because it is not as sharp or intrusive as glycolic acid.

To clean pores and refine the skin, smooth a thin layer gently over the face, neck and/or décolletage. A slight tingling may occur as the Pumpkin-A-Peel deep cleanes pores and removes dead-cell buildup. Leave on for 3-5 minutes. Rinse well. Pumpkin-A-Peel is $39.00 for 1.5 oz. For more information on Pumpkin-A-Peel and other Skingenious products, please call (888) 452-2463 or visit www.skingenious.com.

Scarlett Johansson

Scarlett Johansson escapes Cruise’s clutches
‘MI:3’ star reportedly wanted the starlet to embrace Scientology
By Jeannette Walls
MSNBC

Did Tom Cruise try to recruit Scarlett Johansson to Scientology?

The “Lost in Translation” star was expected to co-star with Cruise in “Mission: Impossible III” but was dropped because of “scheduling conflicts.” But it seems that there may have been other conflicts as well. Cruise invited Johansson to a Scientology center where he showed her literature about joining his controversial church, according to a report. “After two hours of proselytizing,” according to RadarMagazine.com, “Cruise opened a door to reveal a second room full of upper-level Scientologists who had been waiting to dine with the pair, at which point the cool-headed ingénue politely excused herself.”

The Scoop called Johansson’s mother/manager for comment and she declined, referring us to Johansson’s publicist, who didn’t return calls or emails. Cruise’s rep didn’t respond to requests for comment, but Rick Ross of CultNews.com told the Scoop: “Is this Tom Cruise’s version of a first date? It’s becoming increasingly difficult to make distinctions between his personal, professional and religious life. Tom Cruise and Scientology seem intent on recruiting a hot young star. Apparently, Scarlett Johansson flunked her test, but Katie Holmes passed.” Posted by Hello

Andy Serkis

Andy Serkis ("The Lord of the Rings" trilogy -- Gollum/Sméagol) was at the Apple store at Los Angeles' overcrowded, overrated Grove on Sunday, celebrating Father's Day with his children Sonny and Ruby. Baby Louis George, who just celebrated his first birthday (b. 19 June 2004), might have been home with mom, actress Lorraine Ashbourne. Sonny was enthralled with the area on the second level with Macs set up in an oval and children's games on them. Very cute kids. And Serkis is actually much younger (and cuter) looking in person than he is on screen. The actor is in post production on the latest remake of "King Kong."Posted by Hello
