John Mamana, M.D.

About Dr. Mamana: John Mamana, M.D., Chief Executive Officer, founded and managed a multi-specialty group practice, Virginia Medical Associates from 1974 to 1997. He is Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Georgetown University. An executive with extensive Wall Street experience, Dr. Mamana served on the Boards of two NYSE companies (American Health Properties and currently Mid-Atlantic Medical Services, Inc.) From 1994 to 1997, he was Chief Medical Officer and a co-founder of a physician practice management company, HPI, which merged into a publicly traded corporation in October 1997.

Dr. Mamana facilitates the sale of AHS products to providers based on his ability to work at the interface of science, medicine, and business. He leads the effort to educate providers regarding the positive impact of AHS products on an individual's health and the economic opportunities of promoting wellness. He is a graduate of Harvard College, Boston University School of Medicine and trained in internal medicine at the University of Pennsylvania Hospitals. He was Chief of Staff and Chief of Medicine at Fairfax Hospital, a 700-bed teaching hospital in Northern Virginia, for 17 years.
